Ellie Stevenson was born in Oxford and grew up in Australia but considers Yorkshire her honorary home. She has a degree in economic history from the University of York and two professional qualifications.
After several years as a careers adviser, academic librarian and web editor (not all at once) she gave up trying to have a 'normal' career and began to write articles. (When not writing she helps people find information and research their family history).
Ellie writes on history, careers and the arts.
She was first published (poetry) in an Australian state newspaper at the age of ten. In 2009 she was commended for her entry in the Aesthetica Creative Works competition (fiction).
